Recent Topics Posters Murphy, Nicole [1], Raubeson, Linda A. [1]. A Pollen Reference Collection: Woody Rosaceae of Washington State. Pollen reference collections aid in the identification of pollen and, as such, are necessities for the reconstruction of past vegetation and climate, as well as for paleoanthropological studies. We have developed a pollen reference collection for the pollen of woody members of the Rosaceae native to Washington State with generic level representation. Although images of Rosaceae pollen may exist elsewhere they are scattered across various sites and publications. For researchers in the Pacific Northwest it will be advantageous to have available as one collection all local members of the group. Our collection is composed of vials and slides of acetolyzed pollen, light micrographs, and voucher specimens and will be contributed to the Pollen Reference Collection of the Washington State University Palynology Laboratory.
