Eastern Prairie Fringed Orchid Site Tour.

The field trip will involve a visit to at least one eastern prairie fringed orchid (platanthera leucophaea) site. The eastern prairie fringed orchid is a federally threatened plant. The field trip will include a brief description of the methods and goals for recovering the species and how volunteers and professionals are working together toward that goal.
The trip will be mildly strenuous and may require some bush whacking. Particpants should wear waterproof boots or hip waders. Participants should also bring water, sun block, and insect repellant.
